JR Ward's "Lover Avenged" - A Book Review

I liked this book better than I thought I would. If you follow the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, then you know each book has its own hero and tells how he fell in love with and bonded with his soulmate. My very favorite so far has been the story of Zsadist and Bella. This one is about Bella's brother, Rhevhenge. In the beginning, an aristocratic vampire named Montrag taps Rhev to murder the vampire king, Wrath. Rhev will do no such thing...but he will fall in love with Ehlena, a nurse who works at Havers' clinic. And she will go to extreme lengths to make sure they can be together, despite Rev's many bad habits and dirty little secrets.I usually don't mind Ward's noirish, slangy style of storytelling, but the one thing that annoyed the heck out of me in this book is that she kept ending questions with periods instead of question marks. I can see how that might be necessary every once in while when a character already knows the answer to their question and is saying it more like a statement, but used repeatedly, it gets really old really fast.Clearly, the next book is going to be about the youngest Brother, John Matthew, and his twisted path to romance with the androgynous (but she's a woman) Xhex. I'm looking forward to that one. I like John Matthew and his best buds, super-sexy Qhuinn (with one blue eye and one green eye) and Blay (who not-so-secretly loves Qhuinn). dr seuss book collection
