Dead Connection by Alafair Burke Book Review
Detective Ellie Hatcher is delighted with her new assignment. She has been working routine cases and that can get a little boring. She has been asked to work with Flann McIlroy on a case that is similar to one in which her policeman father died very mysteriously. He was working on a case involving a serial killer; however, his death was ruled a suicide. Ellie never believed this even though she was quite young at the time.New York now has a serial killer in its midst. Several women have been murdered and the strange thing is the killer always leaves a clue behind. The clue connects the women to FirstDate, an online dating service. Why was Ellie asked to be a part of the investigative team? Well, it probably has something to do with her looks. Could she be the one to help lure the killer in so he can be caught? She agrees to take on the assignment. After all, this could be her chance for a really big case and to make a name for herself. Will the killer be found before Ellie becomes his next victim?Dead Connection introduces us to NYPD Detective Ellie Hatcher. Alafair Burke fans will find Ellie quite the opposite of Samantha Kincaid. The thing that makes this book good is the combination of Ellie and Flann working together. She is on the shy side and he is a very quirky character and they just seem to complement each other. There are many subplots in this story so you will have to really pay attention to what is going on. Alafair Burke is a skilled writer and fans will enjoy this new book and the addition of another great character. A book by Alafair Burke always means to me that I am in for a very special treat! dr seuss book collection
